Markets
- What a week – if you blinked, your portfolio might’ve vanished. “Liberation Day”? The only thing that got liberated was your net worth… and maybe your will to keep checking the markets.
- Global markets went full toddler-tantrum, and the ASX didn’t want to miss out – down a casual8% for the week.
- Copper copped it. Gold, the usual golden child, got absolutely whacked. Even Bitcoin needed an ice pack. Basically, if it ends in “asset,” it probably had a tough time. But wait – there’s one exception…
Property
- WA property, you beautiful contrarian, you. Median house and unit prices crept up again, and listings dipped just slightly. Perth might be the last sane market standing – who knew?
- Property hotspots for the week? Perth, Nollamara, Rivervale and Wellard.
Rates
- Now here’s the real twist: a growing choir of commentators reckon all this tariff-fuelled chaos could lead to not one, not two, but potentially fourrate cuts this year.
- Why? Because tariffs = lower demand for Aussie exports, and that might need a little monetary pick-me-up.
- Of course, the RBA will do what the RBA does – so we wait. And watch. And maybe stash a few dollars under the mattress for now. Or all-in?
Baseline Success Story of the Week
- With some incredibly tight timeframes, we’ve been asked to assist with some new commercial property funding this week.
- A tender process was conducted across suitable parties, and a preferred lender chosen.
- A credit process is underway, but initial signs are that the finance clause will be met with time to spare. Amazing what can be achieved when everyone is pushing in the same direction, and the right people on your side.

- I don’t trust people who do acupuncture—they’re real back stabbers.
- I’m friends with electricians—they really know how to conduct themselves.
